Hey all,

Been a while since anything was actually done around here, and I am well aware the forums were down for some time due to a server issue. I was able to get that all sorted out.

Figured it was worth posting that the entirety of the site (Forums, Image upload page, URL shorterner, any any other bits that some users might still be using) are now secured with SSL, as they should be in this day and age (Especially for a site that includes logging in).

If anyone has any questions, let me know!

I have... A few things of the server still

Kaise123. I knew you since you torrented minecraft 1.7.3 with zombes mod pack. Way before you made a server. Say, can I get a hold of those server files by any chance? I miss home.

I remember those days, that would've been Beta 1.7.3. I had a server at the time but it was before it was available to the general public so nobody would have known about it. As for the server files, what ones in particular are you after? That folder has a lot of additional things in it, so I can't upload it directly. If you are looking for particular worlds, clients or anything like that I'm happy to locate and upload them for you.

I've just uploaded an updated pack for my client, with the base game as Minecraft 1.8.0. This is compatible with all 1.8.X servers up to 1.8.8.

I've had a few people ask me for information as to whether I will continue to update this client/installer or not, and I'm really not sure. If when Minecraft 1.9 releases mods are still readily updated I will continue with the project, but I will not maintain it like I once did. The demand for the client has dropped considerably, and changes to the game have made it harder to maintain also.

This 1.8 version includes a fair few of the old mods, although some have been substituted for different ones with similar functionality. There may be some bugs due to conflicts with versions, and some mods are still in their beta stage, however it has a majority of the most used mods with full functionality. Currently, it includes the following:

- NotEnoughItems
- InventoryTweaks
- JourneyMap (NEW - Enhanced functionality over Rei's MM)
- DaFlight (NEW - Fly mod with classic controls. Works much better than VoxelFlight did)
- WorldEditCUI
- OptiFine
- TabbyChat
- WorldEdit Forge (For WorldEdit in singleplayer)
- ZyinsHUD

Let me know if you have any questions about this version. It requires you to manually drop the files into Appdata/roaming, and includes a launcher. You will probably need to adjust some controls and positions of windows for it to work correctly for you, and depending on your screen resolution.

Wow, Thanks everyone. I really enjoyed running the servers, and this sort of thing is pretty much why. I learned a lot from the experience, mostly to do with the technical side but also about managing people and resolving disputes peacefully, which can sometimes be a challenge #ClicheSpeech. Anyway, the fact that so many people here still come on the forums makes me really really happy. There is no server, I haven't updated my client in some time and yet you all still take a part out of your day to visit and say something, change my rep (Thanks for that Bobert ) or remove some spam. It makes me remember why I ran the server in the first place. I'll never forget all the good people I met while I ran it, as I think that the group of staff that we built up over the years (If SC and both KC's are to be included) are a fantastic group of people that I feel privileged to have given a place here, when there were probably plenty of other things they could be doing, or more rewarding servers to join.

Hopefully you will all keep popping your head in now and then. Maybe I will one day come across another game that I feel has the same potential Minecraft did, or maybe Minecraft itself will again becoming a primary interest of mine and a third server will be created. I have long thought about creating a small server for a number of select people to join, but I have decided against it as I cannot afford to run something well enough for just a few people, and don't want the large scale commitment of running a full on server again.

Yes, the YouTube embed doesn't work correctly at the moment. The developer of the mod hasn't updated it in a while so I'll have to have a bit of a look into fixing it.

I'm not exactly sure. That sort of error is generally caused by conflicts but I'm not an expert on it. What mods are you running/are you sure you installed them properly?
