Hello everybody !
First of all, thanks for this awesome prepackaged minecraft ! I was loosing so much time to add mods, this is really helpfull.
However, with the last version, I encounter a problem. I have no sound in game. On the title screen, music is playing, and i can stop it by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner. But when i play, i ear nothing at all. All volumes are 100%.
Thank you by advance.
Alex
PS : sorry for my flawed english, this is not my native language.
Have you checked that your speakers aren't muted, or if they are turned down?
Yes. As I said, I can hear music on the title screen.
You sure you don't have music on and sound off?
Yes, I just checked.
For information, the computer where the game is installed can't access internet, because it is behinf a proxy that I don't manage. Only port 80 is allowed, which is why I can post here.
Can it be a problem ? Does the game need to download sounds from somewhere ?
Ahh, That would be the problem. The launcher needs to download the sond files when it first opens. Are you able to bypass the proxy temporarily so that they can download (It's a one time thing. About 20MB of sound files download on first launch, then they are saved)
If you can't bypass it, I could upload them seperately for you to install
I have no way to bypass it, so if you can make the files downloadable and installable separately, it would be perfect.
Is there other things that sound which are concerned ?
Thank you.
Here they are: http://www.kaise123.com/minecraft/client/assets/assets_1.6.2.zip (http://www.kaise123.com/minecraft/client/assets/assets_1.6.2.zip) That contains all the files missing that would normally download when you first launch the game.
To install, Extract the 'assets' folder from that archive and paste it into your appdata\.minecraft folder (Windows Vista/7/8 that's C:\Users\USERNAME\Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft). Then launch the game and you should be good to go. Replace files if it asks.
I tried but there is no change.
If I understand correctly, I should now have a .Minecratf/assets directory, which is the one I extracted from your archive, right ? If so, I've done the right thing, but I still have no sound in game.
The directory .minecraft/assets should already exist, You should just be adding to it.
Nevermind! My bad, Old habits die hard. You actually need to put it in Users\USERNAME\minecraft\ NOT appdata. I assume that you are not running Windows XP, As it's different on XP.
Yes !
It works. Thank you very much for your quick and helpfull answers.
