The Aether is not SMP compatible, At least not unless the server is also modified.

Set, There are a lot of mods available... Do you have anything particular in mind?

hx for the reply everyone and like Kaise said aether is NOT compatible with multiplayer and mods I have in mind are mods like inv tweaks or tmi or rei's minimap mods more like useful addons other like mods that add tons of stuff if u have any of them in mind just tell :3
