Hi rimrimat,
I downloaded the file without warnings/problems from ESET NOD32 Antivirus / MS Security Essentials.
I did notice a couple of things which i'll explain below:
After opening the zip archive i noticed the contents of a pre-installed cracked Minecraft, as it had some in-game screenshots, and client logs which are made when you launch the game.
(with this information you can state that the person whom uploaded it didn't bother about cleaning up his gamefiles ;-) )
Also, when navigating to .minecraft\versions\ i noticed a modded
1.6.2 jar,
whereas the filename of the zip states:
Minecraft 1.6.4 Cracked with OptiFine & MiniMap
When i checked the exe file's properties however, i noticed a mention of simpleMC.net, so i visited that site.
Unfortunately i couldn't download the client there because you had to sign-up first and validate (or pay) using a Credit Card, in order to download the program...
I still wasn't sure if i could trust the exe so i did some googling on simpleMC and it found some results of torrents on TPB with the same cracked client, BUT those were all packaged differently i.e. they had a readme and a much bigger setup file.
The problem with these kind of things is that most of the time you don't know if you have the original files or ones someone has tampered with and perhaps added a backdoor/RAT or whatever.
With this said i'm not assuming that the client u've referred to shouldn't be trusted, but i would advise everyone to scan the contents (exe) on
www.virustotal.com ,
www.jotti.org ,
http://www.virscan.org/ to make sure those don't come up with any virus reports (i haven't done this yet, but will soon).
When i noticed that the contents were differing from the other torrents i found, i felt the urge to notify/warn you people about my findings.
I'll now continue scanning the files and if everything looks OK i'll install this under a virtual machine with no internet.
Will report back ASAP and if everything turns out to be good, i'll edit/update my post accordingly.
EDIT:(here are the scan-results)

http://r.virscan.org/report/8e01b4d2281025b77029fd37d6ec2964.htmlNow lets hope it's not a FUD (Fully UnDetectable) virus, because those exist as well
(FUD basically means that there is no known signature/pattern to detect/identify it as a virus, with or without heuristics enabled)
Thanks for your time/patience reading all this, and rimrimat too if the files appear to be clean! (which they do, atleast for now)

another EDIT: i actually gave up on this because i don't find it worth the effort to spend more time on something of which its obvious it has been tampered with.
If i find the time i'll verify
http://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8966587/ It has a setup and the files were uploaded by someone named
simpleMC
